Rainbow Community Care and Viewpoint with Dennis Quaid have collaborated on a television project designed to educate and inform audiences about the importance of hospice, palliative, and guided care.

Founded by volunteers in 1990, Rainbow is one of the state’s few remaining local, independent, and non-profit providers of services that offer support to patients and families throughout the entire aging and serious illness journey. Highly esteemed for excellence in hospice care, palliative care, advance care planning, grief support, parish nursing, and volunteer programs, Rainbow extends its assistance to individuals in their homes, assisted living and skilled nursing facilities, as well as at the Rainbow Hospice Care Inpatient Center in Johnson Creek, Wisconsin.

Viewpoint with Dennis Quaid is on the cutting edge of the television documentary industry, producing top quality programming for Public Television. Its goal is to enlighten audiences by delivering diverse informational and educational documentaries covering a variety of issues and topics. Viewpoint is dedicated to the mission of developing and distributing social and educational programming about our neighbors, our community, and the world. Each story has one thing in common – changing our lives for the better.

On Wednesday, June 7, 2023, Viewpoint’s production crew spent the entire day at the Rainbow Hospice Care Inpatient Center in Johnson Creek talking with staff about the work the organization does to support patients and families throughout the entire journey with aging and serious illness.

The three minute and twenty-nine second public television story was distributed to 170+ affiliate stations across the country on February 26 and they will have up to one year to broadcast it.

The one-minute commercial is airing this month on CNN, CNN Headline News, MSNBC, CNBC, Fox News, Fox Business Network, TLC, Travel and Discovery in the Madison and Milwaukee television markets.

This important project marks Rainbow’s first public television collaboration since the Consider the Conversation film series inspired a statewide advance care planning initiative launched by the Wisconsin Medical Society in 2012.
