8th Annual Conference: Partnering for Excellence in End-of-life Care

Event Date:
April 19, 2012 - 8:00am - 4:30pm

Attention clinical professionals and volunteers, including doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, social workers, bereavement counselors, administrators, and others who either provide end-of-life care, or wish to learn more about it.

Please join us on April 19 at the Country Springs Hotel and Conference Center in Pewaukee for a day of interactive information sharing and networking. With the theme "On the Leading Edge of Change", the day will begin with an opening keynote address by world-renowned author, speaker, and end-of-life care expert: Maggie Callanan, RN co-author of, Final Gifts: Understanding the Special Awareness Needs and Communication of the Dying, and author of its “prequel”, Final Journeys: A Practical Guide to Care and Comfort at the End of Life.

After Ms. Callanan’s keynote presentation, participants will have the chance to attend three separate breakout sessions (from a choice of six topics),* network with colleagues, learn about the current State of Hospice, during a luncheon presentation by HOPE of Wisconsin's director, Melanie Ramey, and participate in an engaging panel discussion facilitated by regional experts in various aspects of clinical, psychosocial, and spiritual aspects of end-of-life care. Up to six continuing education contact hours are provided.

Registration: $95 per person includes breakfast, lunch, breaks and program materials. This fee is discounted to $85 per person for groups of four or more people attending from the same organization.
Proceeds from the event support: Your Friends in Action, a community based volunteer program of Rainbow Hospice Care, providing neighborly, non-medical caregiving assistance to individuals living with difficulties due to aging, chronic illness, or disability.
